Customers: UT Austin RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service and Dell.com wanted a global social innovation challenge competition that engaged student social entrepreneurs across the world.
Innovation gains: accelerator product included ideation, design, pilot launch and scale modules in an integrated challenge competition platform for university students in 100+ countries around the world. Implementation included both online and offline participation requirements, features and benefits for corporations through their employees engagement as mentors and judges.
The Challenges design enabled a self-selective competition ecosystem where student social entrepreneurs and teams right-sized their venture progress potentials to any global cultures, languages and venture disciplines.
Impact gains: achieved the largest and broadest engaged student social innovation challenge in the world within 18 months. More than 350,000 registered participants, 6,000 social enterprises and founding teams across 100 countries engaged mentors, investors, partners, supportive educational institutions and customers to accelerate adoption of positive impact producing innovations that measurably improved our world.
Bonus impacts: SWP intellectual property and licensed product innovations accelerated founders execution abilities in ideation, design, pilot, scale and exit venture stage successes. SWP operational tools and heuristics for stakeholder value creation also became commercially valuable enough to spin out from a not-for-profit University program into its a for-profit startup venture – raising a $2.5 M seed round as Verb.
