Rob Hanna coined the term social wealth in 1991 while working on Wall Street. He reasoned the creativity, insights and innovations used to create systemic private wealth could also be applied to significantly improve outcomes for society.
Social Wealth's point of difference as a methodology is designing, aligning and delivering intentional value to parties beyond a venture's balance sheet (positive social impacts) in order to increase and accelerate a venture's ROI.
The observable evidence of this net-positive value for external parties to a venture is easily measured and verified as targeted financial, in-kind and/or behavioral and environmental condition gains desired by such participants. All social wealth created can be simply stated as observable gains net of any similar evidence of intentional liabilities or costs incurred to achieve them.
Rob's instincts of Social Wealth success derives from Adam Smith's foundational treatise The Theory of Moral Sentiments, the seminal work for Smith's magnum opus The Wealth of Nations and birth of capitalism as a moral philosophy. Rob Hanna is the founding partner of Social Wealth Partners. His wealth creation experience includes sales leader for the oldest brokerage firm on Wall Street, general partner of multiple offshore hedge funds, co-founder and managing director of a German wealth management Aktiengesellschaft, angel investor and advisor to hundreds of startups.
Rob entered into philanthropy in 1993 on a mission: he saw the failure of traditional charity methods to achieve significant impacts as an opportunity and inspiration to innovate new methodologies based on private wealth creation principles and innovation skills.
